Rose City Labs was granted a license renewal for Psilocybin Testing in Oregon. This high level achievement underscores our commitment to providing accurate and reliable testing services with a focus on compliance and quality, we continue to set the standard for testing services in Oregon.

Bad weather conditions prompted us to postpone our annual party, licking off the New Year instead with a unique and festive catered lunch, some fun staff apparel, along with an exciting and competitive white elephant gift exchange that everyone eagerly participated in!

Our first internal study was conducted by R&D chemist Bjorn Fritzsche in preparation for a Pittcon presentation. This study aimed to further the understanding of psilocybin's shelf life. This effort is part of our ongoing dedication to provide accurate and reliable information to the public.

A joint interview with Tori, from Satori Farms, and CEO, Dan Huson. The interview focused on psychedelic-augmented therapies in Europe. In addition to the article, segments will be featured in a book on altered states as new tools for mental health, written by the interviewer: Dominique Nora.

Dan and Bjorn attended the 2024 Pittcon Conference in beautiful San Diego, joining a panel of distinguished guests from Shimadzu (our testing equipment manufacturer) and psilocybin industry experts from Denver. This participation provided an opportunity to connect, cultivate and collaborate.

In February of this year, Rose City Laboratories was honored to be selected as the trusted facility to conduct thorough and detailed product analysis specifically for lead testing on a wide variety of consumer gift items. We have noticed a trend in concerns for products that are produced in unregulated factories.

Lab owner, Dan Huson, was honored to be invited to speak at a small community gathering in Santa Rosa, where he shared valuable insights on the essential testing protocols, and the importance of understanding potency. His discussion aimed to educate attendees on the complexities involved in psilocybin analysis.

Rose City Labs recently participated in Round Robin testing panel alongside other labs. This involved multiple labs testing the same product in a blind results study format, enhancing the reliability and accuracy of the testing processes. Such engagement fosters a commitment to high standards within the industry.

Initial introductions to Oregon’s first Veteren-focused non-profit meeting of the minds on understanding the importance of testing protocols was held at Rose City Labs. Heroic Hearts Project works with leading medical researchers to improve veterans’ access to psychedelic programs for the treatment of PTSD. Rose City supports this important effort.

Our sister lab in Bend: Britebox Labs launches entire line of DIY kits which will bring convenient home testing to all in the Deschutes county area. Featuring water Quality testing as well as Mold, Asbestos and radon, all home hazards. Customers will appreciate the affordable kits as well as the easy step-by-step instructions.

We had an exciting time at this annual event that highlights home and garden. We showcased DIY Kits, a $450 gift basket giveaway, along with our popular Kids Lab photo booth. Many homeowners, families, and curious visitors experienced firsthand valuable information on home health services.

Psycon Las Vegas - A dynamic and well-attended 3-Day conference that highlighted emerging discoveries in Psilocybin therapies among other topics. Dan’s presentation focused on R & D studies ranging from potency to shelf life stabilities. Also included were CA & NV program progress.

We debuted Britebox R&D for all at this years’ Exposition which was a great one-on-one networking opportunity for many emerging areas of Psilocybin studies and categories. We joined other PDX presenters Tori, Satori Farms- and Jenna, Inner Dimensions for some fun exploring Meow Wolf, LV.

Refocusing requirements for bidding on federal, county, state and municipal testing projects were met as RCL acquired NAICS, UEI, GSA SCHEDULE, CAGE numbers as part of our updated capabilities statement. Additional laboratory competencies, services and expertise were highlighted in this one sheet.

Orlando Baza, a Britebox Lab Tech was the first to successfully complete the mandatory extensive Legionella Water Management Specialist training program required for GSA reports. Additionally, RCL collaborated with Eurofins to meet further testing requirements.

Legionella is a harmful bacterium posing serious health risks to humans. Understanding its nature is crucial for prevention.​Prevalence in the US and Oregon​: Legionella is commonly found in Oregon's water systems, highlighting theneed for regional awareness and action.​

In compliance with GSA's mandatory Legionella testing requirements for all federally leased offices, Rose City Labs has initiated comprehensive Legionella testing services and detailed reporting. These services are available statewide throughout Oregon.

A new opportunityy for local business to share the business section at Bends annual Summer Fest in downtown Bend. A perfect spot to loop our new 30 second TV commercial that was featured on Central Oregon media outlets.

Once again Kim and Joel managed the second annual the Kids Lab in the RCL Lobby for preschoolers to come and bring in water samples, wear Lab Coats, use microscopes and even given water trivia coloring sheets. Fun Day!

Even though it was a scorcher, Dan, Laura and Kim all showed up for the 3 day fair, highlighting our DIY Kits and test services for Dechutes County, and featuring our newly expanded environmental testing, speciaically water tests.

RAC focuses on rules related to Psilocybin Services and Licensed Premises. RACs are an important part of the rulemaking process that allows members of the public an opportunity to provide input on draft administrative rules.

With the help of Ken, carpenter Dan set out to reframe and build a larger and more private staff kitchen and employee breakroom. This also came with the expansion of admin offices. Some original vintage sci-fi wallpaper also hit the walls with color and exciting fervor.

Brand New Toyota Rav4’s hit the lot at Rose City Labs, which inspired Joya to create some hybrid lab vehicle wraps that feature both labs. The staff and Field techs all voted on their favorite designs, which are still waiting for the green light from the laboratories upper management.

Busy 5 day event-the annual Deschutes County Fair. Dan, Kim, Laura, Lisa and Joya all helped make our booth the star attraction. Hands down, the Best swag (over 2500 ducks) and 5500+ giveaways. Now if the parents would scan the QR codes… we’d all be swimming!

The Picnic Hit: Zach’ and Lucas smoked meats 3 ways… Corn on the cob, Roosevelt Baked Beans, Sliders, BBQ everything. Adult lemonade, homemade Tequila and craft cocktails was great fun! Everyone played BINGO, hung out in the creek and had a great time at Joya’s cabin.

The Environmental Legionella Isolation Techniques Evaluation Program issues a certificate of proficiency to labs that have demonstrated the ability to isolate Legionella from simulated environmental samples by culture.

Dan, Laura and Zach represented Brite Box Labs setting up a booth for the PSYCON expo. Dispelling myths and explaining vis Q&A the widespread use of synthetics in psychedelics. The Lab is open to testing for all.

The Association seeks to bring together organizations and individuals interested in the environmental laboratory industry in a common forum and to provide reliable info. about environmental laboratories to the public.

National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (NLPPW) brings together individuals, organizations, industry, and state, Tribal, territorial, and local governments to reduce childhood exposure to lead by increasing lead poisoning prevention awareness and education.

At Rose City Laboratories, a Halloween party doubled as a surprise for Dan’s birthday, in the lab on a break from Bend. Costumes varied, teams enjoyed snacks, a costume contest, and a spooky breakroom. We celebrated Dan with cake and cheers.

A new DIY Kit (DO-IT-YOURSELF) at Home test for Mold Surface testing was added to our library and online shop.In addition, Lab techs can also perform on location Mold Surface testing, which includes collecting a sample in a petrie dish.

Rose city labs staff celebrated the holidays with a delicious meal prepared by the twins (zach & lucas) a cookie exchange and our highly competitive White Elephant gift exchange. Dan gifted staff with an additional surprise!

For the second year, Rose CIty Labs hosted a Holiday Food Drive for the Portland Sunshine Division. Thanks to staff & customers, not one but TWO full food barrels were collected helping local food-challenged families in need.

Sophie F., a 7th grader at Winterhaven reached out to the lab for the annual science fair project that sends the winning students to the Northwest Science Expo. At the Lab, Sophie was able to set up a testing area in the lab to assist with her project.
